Power Cuts in Bangalore

Opps....... power cuts in Bangalore has become a big problem. I feel so funny when we call BSCOM Help lines for enquiry, after a long wait you get the line then they tell 2 hours power is back further questioned they tell the same story of some wires has been damaged and they are working on that. Again after 2 hrs Phone does not work (either switched off or busy)
If rain or wind can make the lines damaged then what type of facilities we have in Bangalore.
Areas like Hebbal and Devanalli routes are too bad when rains.
yesterday, we had bad night because of power cuts. In this heat without fan, no one can sleep. That too if we are in apartments no place to air get inside the house.
This is the third time we have experiened power cuts for whole day or almost 12 to 14 hrs power cuts continuesly.
Hope KEB(BESCOM) will improve.

  2. Owning a nuclear reactor is not an option here. Check this out: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/04/2012storms/ - Also the NASA link available here. NASA acknowledges it.

Why not use solar power? Bangalore is expected to be using solar cells in huge number in a year or so.
